Exercise smart in the heat

The sunshine is amazing, but exercising in hot weather puts extra stress on your body. That doesn’t mean you have to stop moving – just be a little smarter about how you do it.

🌅 Exercise in the cooler parts of the day


💧 Stay hydrated before, during and after your workout


👕 Wear light, breathable clothing


❄️ Pop a cold, damp towel around your neck while exercising – it’s a simple but effective way to help keep your body temperature down.


❤️ Listen to your body and don’t be afraid to reduce the intensity or take extra breaks.

If you start to feel dizzy, sick, develop a headache or your heart feels like it’s racing, stop exercising, move somewhere cool, hydrate and recover.

Remember… consistency is more important than intensity. A gentler workout is always better than pushing too hard in the heat.
